The GFWC/Iowa Federation of Women’s Clubs has awarded Allison Nixa of Akron-Westfield the E. Lucille Miller Music Scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year. Allison was sponsored by the local GFWC/Iowa Friendship & Service Club.

Allison will be attending the University of Iowa.

The Akron-Westfield Prom is one for the books. The “A Night in Greece'' theme Prom was held April 27. The first activity was the annual Grand March in the new gym, but prior to that, many were at the Akron Golf Course taking photos. Following the Grand March was the banquet at the Hole ‘N the Wall lodge, then the After Prom from midnight to 4 a.m.
