Akron Opera House receives donation from KCs

The Akron Opera House recently received a $500 donation from the St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus Council #12448. Funds will go towards the Opera House restoration and renovation fund and be used toward the replacement of the opera house roof. Completion of the roof project is scheduled for late 2023 or early 2024, pending contractor timing. 

Akron Farmers market draws to a close

The 2023 season of the Akron Area Farmers Market saw growth in vendor numbers and attendees -- despite several nights of 100-plus heat index warnings. Throughout the season there were more than 35 vendors who sold their wares.

The Board of Directors thanks the community for support of the market and its programs.

FBC hosts annual Autumn Harvest Festival

The food was abundant, the crowd immense, and the talent outstanding at First Baptist Church’s annual Autumn Harvest Festival Oct. 14. It all started at 4 p.m. with bouncy houses for the young and young at heart, followed by the delicious supper, and ending with a glorious concert.
