David Scott Olson, 55 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s-Downtown in Sioux City, Iowa.

Gloria Jean Siemers, age 80, of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Park View Care Center.

Born on March 30, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Clifford and Betty (Wilson) Groon. On September 1, 1963, she married the love of her life, Ronald W. Siemers, at Union Creek Lutheran Church in rural Union County, South Dakota. Together, they shared 62 years of devotion, laughter, and family.

Janet Lea Grimsley, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at a Sioux City Hospital with family present.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Mater Dei Parish - Church of the Nativity in Sioux City IA. Visitation will be Thursday evening December 11, 2025, from 5-7 PM, with a Vigil Service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. A private family burial will take place later Friday afternoon.

Dennis Wilken, 86, of Akron, Iowa, died on Friday, November 14, 2025, at his home in Akron.

Else Svanholm Host Englund, age 93, of Beresford, SD, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Ava’s House, Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 24, at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Vermillion, with Pastor Kwen Sanderson and Pastor Martha Atkins officiating.  Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery, Vermillion.  Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM Thursday, October 23, with a prayer service at 7 PM at Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.

Shirley L. Sanders, 87 of Akron, IA, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at her home.

Donald “Don” Heyl, 95, of Akron, Iowa, died on October 9th at the Akron Care Center.

Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron.  Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5:00pm. Captain Derek Allen Goudge USN (Ret) was born October 16, 1950, in Sargent, Nebraska to Frederic and Rogene (Goldammer) Goudge.  He passed away on September 14, 2025, in Sebring, Florida.

John F. Dirks, 91 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on October 2, 2025 at the Akron Care Center.

Marvin Fred Stotz, 89, was born in Lake Andes, South Dakota, on February 21, 1936, to Fred and Elsie (Perrman) Stotz. He passed away in Billings, Montana, on September 24, 2025.

Marvin is survived by his children, Marnie (Brad) Wells, Darla (Chuck) Utesch, and Renae Miller; his siblings, Dennis (Sonya) Stotz and Rueben Stotz; his longtime friend, Colleen Sherwood; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
