All things are go!

Cast is ready for “Guys and Dolls” this weekend at ACT.

The new chair lift is also ready to go.

The cast has been preparing many weeks and is ready to perform “Guys and Dolls” this weekend at Akron Community Theatre. The new chair lift has been installed by American Elevator of North Sioux City, NE, and is ready to be used for “Guys and Dolls.” It is recommended if you would like to use the chair lift to come 30 to 45 minutes early for the play. The chair lift is a reality thanks to the Akron Community Foundation Grant of $3,000, The Junior League of Sioux City Fund donation of $750, the Friendship & Service Club donation of $2,000, and the many private donations. The board decided to upgrade the lift from a 300 pound capacity to a 375 pound capacity for an extra $2,000. The board is still looking for donations for the lift because with the upgrade, they are approximately $1,700 short of their new goal of $8,500.

The veterans met in the Legionnaires’ new home while the auxiliary members met at St. Patrick’s Fellowship Hall. A noon banquet was followed by the building’s Dedication Service and a veterans’ Memorial Service.
