World Community Day

World Community Day will be held Friday, Nov. 3 at, 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Parish Hall. The program is “Signs of Healing.” Everyone is invited to attend.

Open burning

The City of Akron will allow open burning Nov. 3-12. Rules: Do not burn when windy; only burn between 8 a.m. -6 p.m.; fire must be attended at all times; no burning in gutters, alleys, streets, or any City right-of-way; water hose and/or rake available and ready to use; yard waste is the ONLY thing that is allowed to be burned.

Zoning revision

The Union County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a final hearing on zoning revisions at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Union County Courthouse in Elk Point, S.D.

Election Day meals

The Akron Museum is hosting meals throughout the day Nov. 7 for election day. Times are 7 -10 a.m., 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and 4-7 p.m.

Veterans' Day

The annual celebration

of Veteran's Day by Hoschler Post 186, of the American Legion will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 in Akron.

all precincts are open 7

a.m. to 9 p.m. Precinct No. 1 - Town of Akron, Portland Township, vote at the Akron Library Conference Room. Precinct No. 6 - Town of Westfield, Sioux Township, Westfield Township, vote at the Westfield Community
